Abstract
The convergence between a services-oriented Web and existing grid computing infrastructures is taking place recently at a syntactic level dealing with protocols and message formats. However, the current efforts related to the semantic Web and the growing need for semantic knowledge management in grid applications needs of a full convergence at a semantic level. However, the current explosion in the number of technologies for storing semantic information makes this convergence unfeasible because of lack of interoperability between different sources of semantic information. The work presented here is a step forward towards solving the problem of integrating at the physical level heterogeneous semantic RDF repositories. These are owned but multiple stakeholders and solving the interoperability problem favors the construction of virtual organizations that manipulate semantic data for solving complex problems. We define a novel concept of semantic federation, propose a Web Services Infrastructure that is compliant with the OGSI standard and implement the basic integration services using the .NET technology.
